Douglas Works is an architecture and design studio with a focus on creating imaginative and meaningful spaces for those keenly interested in architecture—from design-focused homeowners to creatively-driven developers and commercial clients.
Both innovative and pragmatic, the studio enjoys challenging briefs, and specializes in problem-solving, transforming overlooked spaces and neglected opportunities. We share a deep appreciation for both historic and contemporary architecture. The studio’s experience includes housing, cultural buildings, workspace, and hospitality projects. Our primary goal for our clients (and end-users) is to uncover the latent potentials of their projects.
Based in Medford, Massachusetts, Douglas Works is currently pursuing projects in Massachusetts, Vermont, Texas, and New Zealand.
Tucker Douglas founded Douglas Works in 2023. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is licensed in Massachusetts and Texas.
He has worked extensively in commercial and residential sectors, as well as completed award-winning institutional projects at previous offices. Before setting up Douglas Works, he worked for offices in Houston, Austin, New York and Boston.
Tucker has taught courses at Tufts University and Wentworth Institute of Technology, and has been a guest critic at Rice University, MIT, Harvard, Pratt Institute, and Northeastern University, among other schools.
He resides in Medford with his wife, musician Natalie Lin Douglas, and their son Ezra.
