At the foundation, oversized pier caps double as casual seating and gathering points, activating the edge between house and street. Above, folded roof planes carve shaded porches and outdoor rooms, extending the interior’s social life outward. A lively composition of window sizes and placements animates the façades, balancing privacy with framed views and daylighting.
Inside, a central living area anchors the plan, flanked by bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. This arrangement supports flexibility: equally suited to single-family living, multigenerational households, or roommate arrangements. A galley kitchen links living to rear yard, where the home opens onto a semi-public sidewalk internal to the block. This connective threshold blurs private and communal realms, fostering interaction among neighbors.
Together, these strategies position Division Residence as both a responsive neighborhood dwelling and a forward-looking model for adaptable, community-centered housing.
